(Pit-a-Pat. Gleaming.) || macaroom/Halozy

harahara ranran
Pit-a-Pat. Gleaming.

arrangement/lyrics: アサヒ
vocals: emaru
circle: macaroom/Halozy

錯乱(sakuran)” describes the state of being mentally disordered/confused. It’s more like a general confusion though – having no idea what goes on, having no idea what is real and what is not – when one has completely lost their mind.
Since the original version of this song (with ほたる as vocalist) was titled ‟錯錯乱乱”, it’s safe to say that the song is about that topic. When you look at it like that, I like how asahi chose the title of this remake. Only bare sensory perception is left (hearing, seeing) without nearer classification what goes “pit-a-pat” and what is “gleaming”.
I’d go a step further with my interpretation and claim this song is about dissociation/depersonalisation (being detached of immediate surroundings or your own physical and emotional experiences; in extreme cases it can lead to feeling like a doll, seeing things in front of oneself hundreds of meters away, things being out of proportion etc).

kimi kara tanjun na shikake ga todoku tegami no angou wa nani o shimesu no
maru kaite musubu to ichiban no omoide

I receive a simple device from you. Does the code in your letter tell me something?
Drawing circles and linking them makes the best memories.

kyou wa hiroi heya de undou futari wa ii kanji
kanchigai shite hoshii no asa made hanasou yo
kedo sakusakuranran shite kara hajimaru mono ja nai
hanbun-ko kutsu o haite umi made arukou yo

Today, we exercise in a big room. We both feel good.
Do you want to misunderstand it? Let’s talk until morning.
But since my mind’s all messed up, that’s not what starts it.
Let’s walk until the ocean while wearing half a shoe.

furenaide tomaru to ichiban no omoi ga

Will grave things fall from the sky when I walk the 30 minutes away from the station?
The best thought is not to touch them and stop.

boku wa hitori ue o muite imi naku yurete itai
kansei ga chikaku naru to minna de kowasou yo
demo sakusakuranran shite kara hajimaru mono ja nai
hontou wa mite mo ii yo kuzurete kierunda

I alone look up. I want to meaninglessly sway around.
Perfection draws closer. It seems to destroy us all.
But since my mind’s all messed up, that’s not what starts it.
To be honest, you can take a look. It collapses and disappears.

sakusakuranran shite kara hajimaru mono ja nai
sakusakuranran shitetara modorenai hanarenai

Since my mind’s all messed up, that’s not what starts it.
If my mind were messed up, I couldn’t return. I couldn’t leave.

kawa yori mo aoku machi ni hirogaru sora ni mo

Bluer than the rivers, even bluer than the sky spreading over the city.

kyou wa hiroi heya de undou futari wa ii kanji
kanchigai shite hoshii no asa made hanasou yo
kedo sakusakuranran shite kara harahara shite mitai
hanbun-ko kutsu o haite umi made arukou yo

Today, we exercise in a big room. We both feel good.
Do you want to misunderstand it?  Let’s talk until morning.
But since my mind’s all messed up, I try to get excited.
Let’s walk until the ocean while wearing half a shoe.
