[Adieu, to this Lively Graveyard] || 暁Records

yukai na hakaba de gokigenyou
Adieu, to this Lively Graveyard

(Rigid Paradise)

arrangement: Stack Bros.
lyrics/vocals: Stack
(Touhou Steampunk)
circle: 暁Records

The title is a wordplay with the phrase “Welcome, to X!”. Because, well, if someone is dead you greet them with ‘adieu’, right?

There are several other wordplays in the song:
三歩 (sampo) [three steps] is a pun of 散歩 (sampo) [to go for a walk].
楽死んで (tanoshinde) is a pun of tanoshii [to enjoy] and shinde [to die].

The lyrics are mostly written in simple Japanese using the Kansai dialect.
Since this song was written for the Touhou Steampunk Compilation, there are many words from that field used in the song.
The parts written in brackets weren’t given in the booklet.

(1,2,3,4! Hey!)

shindemo inai shi ikite mo inai no sa
buriki no haato wa nejimaki rizumu
sampo mo arukyaa nanmokanmo ayafuya
biroudo medama ga bane de odemashi!

I’m not dead and I’m not alive either.
My tin heart plays a wound up rythm.
Just by taking three steps, all’s obscure.
My velvet eyes appear at the mainspring!

The past is in the past, now is now! Everything has passed.
I’m still a little sad – Let’s dance together!

hakaba wa kyou mo seikai, ashifumi narase!
tanoshinde, sondemokkai shinde
kikaijikake no zombie? sorette ii kamo ne
gokigenyou, yukai na hakaba e youkoso!

The graveyard is again well attended, stomp on the floor!
A happy death, and die again.
A clockwork zombie? That’d be cool too.
Adieu and welcome to the lively graveyard!

(hai ya, tsuzuki niban! eeto, nandakke??)

(A’ight, now number two! Uhm, what was it??)

shinde iru no kamo? ikite inai kamo?
sochira no joushiki zombie no hijoushiki
tetsuguzu noumiso nanmokanmo aimai
katakata iu no wa nezumi no dansu!

I might be dead? I might not be alive?
It’s common sense for you. Zombies lack common sense.
With my scrap iron brain, all is vague.
That rattling means the rats dance!

wasurechatta kimi no koto boku mo kimi o wasurechatta
da kara zenbu yoshi to shite toriaezu odorimashou

You slipped my mind, I slipped my mind too.
So I just take it all easy. Let’s just dance for now!

hakaba wa kyou mo seikai, ashifumi narase!
tanoshinde, sondemokkai shinde
kikaijikake no zombie? sorette ii kamo ne
gokigenyou, yukai na hakaba e youkoso!

The graveyard is again well attended, stomp on the floor!
A happy death, and die again.
A clockwork zombie? That’d be cool too.
Adieu and welcome to the lively graveyard!

kanashimu no wa mou juubun issho ni odorimashou

The past is in the past, now is now! Everything has passed.
I already mourned enough – Let’s dance together!

kanoke wa anmari ni kurakute ikenai
semai shi, uta datte kikoenai
sore nara kono sekai zenbu, kanoke tte koto de
ikitete mo shindete mo haka no naka!

My coffin cannot be that dark.
It’s cramped and I can’t even hear songs.
That means the whole world is a coffin.
We live in a grave and die in a grave!

zombie wa kyou mo seikai, ashifumi narase!
tanoshinde, sondemokkai shinde
omoinokoshi ga aru nara buriki no shinzou o
gokigenyou, yukai na hakaba e youkoso!

The zombies are correct again, stomp your feet!
A happy death, and die again.
If you got memories left, adieu to your heart
And welcome to this lively graveyard!
