The lyrics of this song are rather cryptic when it comes to clarify the famous w-questions due to the almost complete lack of “watashi/boku” [I/me] and “anata/kimi” [You]. The lyrics work by only using “kore” (this) and “sore” (that), “koko” [here] and “soko” [there] and finally “kono” (this/my) and “sono” (that/your).
Yet, there are nothing but hints about what places or situations the speaker talks about – At least for these uninvolved. The only possibilities given in the lyrics are “memories” or “heart”, but that would make most of the lyrics metaphorical. It could also refer to actual places though, if the speaker moved away or something.
I refrained from adding any kind of interpretation in the translation, so you can make up your own!
Somehow I’d say the song plays at the end of summer, although there’s no specific season connected with it. Thinking about it, it suits all seasons some way or another. There always comes a warm feeling with it though.
After seeing the song title, I was surprised it’s actually a rap song. Stack’s English is getting better and better! It’s refreshing to have proper English in a song.
A friend of mine had the pleasure to meet Stack in person this Comiket and she seems to be a great person as well.
You have always been my friend. Only when you were there everything and anything was all right! Words alone aren’t enough; gratitude and love for you. (This is the first time I was allowed to rap this long!)
