This song as well as “Alf layla wa-layla” are based on a novel called “This is the Ghostly Field Detective Office” in which Renko and Merry solve several incidents.
The song’s intro is an extract of the novel’s prologue and the outro was transcribed by ear.
This is the continuation of track 1 and a collaboration with Asagihara Shinobu’s novel “This is the Ghostly Field Detective Office” as well! It is kind of an opening theme…!
“Our answer traces our fates and links them. A steady rythm links red threads; it’s sentimental rock!
We hear Renko and Merry again in this song, although most of the lyrics are from Renko’s point of view.
Only two songs from the album left now! Track 6 causes me some problems because I’m unable to understand the intro completely. It might not be included in the translation.
The drama part was transcribed by ear with help of Violet and Releska!
The first scene is spoken by Renko, the second scene by Merry.
They are sitting in the bar Old Adam and talk about the forbidden fruit, Adam and Eve and the world’s secrets. Renko seems fond of the plan to take a bite out of said fruit, but Merry is still unsure…
The drama part and the song belong together, that’s why I put them in one post.
I’m not sure if Stack had “Wakasagihime’s 100 Sushi Topping Game” in mind when writing that first line, but it sure is bizarre!
As you might notice, there are references to around 4 Touhou games in this song (DDC, IN, LoLK, EoSD).
1) A rokurokubi is a monster with very long neck. (-> Sekibanki)
This world and that world, they are all completely bizarre! You could say that the moment we live in right now is not even one part of the illusion?! I arranged this song!
And thus, the amusement park’s light disappears and the present throws a black shadow over this dream.
The spinning rockinghorse won’t stop anymore.
…Why is it that even though we’re in the same dream, both of us are desolate?
1) Alf laila wa-laila is the original Arabian title of “One Thousand and One Nights”. I didn’t translate it in the song because it seems more like a magic spell of some sorts. 2) This track as well as “空論アウトロウ ～Welcome to Ghostly Field Detectibe Office.” are the image songs of a doujin novel written by asagihara_s with the title “Welcome to Ghostly Field Detective Office”. I wasn’t able to find an English translation of the novel however. 3) Senya ichiya (monogatari) is the Japanese title of “One Thousand and One Nights”. 4) Fiddle-Dee-Dee means something like “That’s nonsense!”
